Locomotion No.1 Steam Locomotive Blackwork Embroidery Kit or Pattern is part of a collection of Steam Locomotive designs I am designing with my Steam Engine loving Dad.  The others in the set include Catch-Me-Who-Can,  The Puffing Billy, The Wylam Dilly, The Rocket, Castle Class and Clun Castle Steam Locomotive.

Locomotion No.1 was built in 1825 by pioneering railway engineers George and Robert Stephenson.  It became the first steam locomotive to haul a passenger carrying train on a public railway, the Stockton and Darlington Railway (S&DR).

My Dad has proof stitched each of the engine patterns for me.

This design is ideal for anyone, from a beginner to an expert in any counted embroidery technique.

Apart from a sewing frame/hoop and scissors, this kit is ready to use as soon as you receive it in the post.

Finished Size

• 175 x 84 stitches on 28 count evenweave or 14 count aida.
• Approx 32cm x 15cm / 12.5 x 6 inches.

Contents of Complete Kit

• A full list of instructions including a colour pattern of the Outline and Fill patterns.
• Fabric: 28 count white cotton evenweave or 14 count white Cotton Aida by Fabric Flair.
• Size: Approx. 43cm x 25.5cm (17 x 10 inches) (This gives a 2 inch border of fabric around the edge for framing.) Fabric bound on all the edges to prevent fraying.
• Pre-sorted Anchor Stranded Cotton and Pearl thread on a colour printed thread card.
• Size 24 and Size 26 Tapestry Needle by John James.
